010 - Small - Brown Maroon Rust

When I was prototyping and fine-tuning my coat patterns, I didn't want to "waste" good vintage quilts - in case it didn't work out. So, I started making my own mini-quilts, custom-fit to my pattern pieces.

This quilt was inspired by a group of genius quilt makers from Alabama. It's a combination of disassembled linen clothing, vintage curtains, gifted yardage, and fabrics from sewing-swaps. I machine pieced and hand quilted this coat; it took about a month to make.

I purchased the bamboo batting on-line, to see how it "felt." The resulting coat is quite heavy, yet soft. The sleeves can be rolled up to reveal a coordinated gray floral pattern.

* Size SMALL, with slightly dropped shoulders
* Rounded collar, coordinated cuffs, no buttons
* 2 interior pockets; cotton lining
